What is fuel poverty?
Fuel poverty is referred to when a household struggles to afford to heat the home to a temperature that will keep them warm.
Switched On Portsmouth is a part of Portsmouth City Council that are dedicated to helping low-income households. They offer a variety of Government lead schemes that offer energy bill support, free energy efficiency upgrades in the home and free advice.
The schemes that are available to eligible households are:

- free old and inefficient white goods replacement
- free energy saving advice
- free cavity wall and loft insulation
- home energy visits for small energy saving measures
