Am I eligible for Warmer Homes?

Thousands of Portsmouth, Gosport and Havant residents are eligible to receive a fully funded gas central heating system. We will take all applications into consideration.

You might be eligible if:

The main way you heat your home is one of the following:

  • electric Storage Heaters
  • room Heaters
  • open fires
  • gas fires

AND IF YOU

  • are receipt of any means tested benefit, OR
  • have a low household income, OR
  • have a long term health condition, OR
  • are over the age of 60, OR
  • are responsible for a child under the age of 15

Through a number of partnerships Portsmouth City Council were able to offer Cynthia expert advice which lead to a number of energy saving measures being offered at no cost.

This included free gas central heating through Warmer Homes

In total Cynthia received £4,200 worth of home energy improvements which deliver her an annual saving of £3,740 including increased income.

Martin was recently visited by a Home Energy Adviser.

Following the visit Martin was given some “energy pledges”. These are the actions recommended during the home visit, such as maximising wash loads and only boiling what you need in the kettle. On checking cheaper energy suppliers via the energy switching website, Martin managed to save £300 on his annual energy bill.
