What is on offer?

During the winter, a lack of heating and hot water can have a severe impact on your health and wellbeing.

The boiler repair and replacement scheme offers emergency assistance to vulnerable homeowners. If you have a broken or condemned boiler you may be eligible for help. This scheme is only available between October and March.

Who is it available to?

The free boiler repair/replacement scheme is available to those with health conditions on low income or income support. This scheme is only available to owner-occupiers, for private and social tenants it will be your landlord’s responsibility for repairing your boiler. Please find the eligibility criteria below.

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Child Tax Credit / Working Tax Credit
  • Universal credit
  • Housing Benefit

And

There must be someone in the household who is:

  • Aged 65 or over, or
  • Aged under 5, or
  • Suffering from significant health problems or has a disability that may be exacerbated by living in a cold home,
  • Cancer / Terminal illness
  • Cardiovascular condition
  • Respiratory condition
  • Disability (affecting mobility)
  • Mental Health Condition

How can I get a boiler repair/replacement?

The LEAP Boiler Scheme (LBS), formerly known as (ECHO) is an emergency boiler repair and replacement service managed by AgilityEco. LBS is funded by energy suppliers as part of the Warm Homes Discount Industry Initiative.

This scheme is closed to new referrals from the general public but available through LEAP referrals from partner organisations. If you have boiler issues during this period please still contact our team for support on 0800 260 5907.
