Raquel and Loreto
Raquel and Loreto received cavity wall insulation, solar panels and a hybrid heat pump through the Warmer Homes scheme.
“Before the works, we had done some renovations, but where this is an old house, the heating was really not good. We signed up the moment we were told we might be able to get solar PV installed.
One of our neighbours told us about the scheme, gave us a contact number and they came out really quick to check everything for us. The process was nice and easy.
We’ve noticed savings on our bills, and the insulation has made a big difference on the heating in our home.
We would highly recommend the scheme. A lot of our friends have already asked us for a referral, so we are always putting people forward.”
Antanas
Antanas had a heat pump and solar panels installed through the Warmer Homes programme.
“I was referred to the Warmer Homes programme through an installer. He guided me through the process and proposed the designs. I was happy that he was flexible on the location of the installations and more than happy with the setup of both the air source heat pump and radiators.
My bills were much higher before I had the work done. I’ve definitely noticed that my electricity bills have been drastically reduced due to the work. The biggest gain for me has been improvement to my cost of living. The bills are far less of a sting, especially during the summer months where I can build up credit for the winter. This has taken the pressure off my bills.
When I first heard of Warmer Homes, I wasn’t sure if it was genuine, though after my own experience with the scheme, I soon recommended it to my neighbours who have now also benefitted since their installations.
As a whole, the scheme is a great initiative, supporting people whilst making the country greener. All those involved in running the scheme were friendly and supportive.”
Andrew
Andrew replaced his electric boiler with a modern air source heat pump with the Warmer Homes scheme funded by the government.
With this simple change, Andrew now saves £300 a month on his energy bills, which frees up money to spend on himself and his family.
Nancy
Nancy didn’t think she would qualify for energy-saving grants. However, once she began feeling the cold in her home, she visited the Warmer Homes website.
After applying, Nancy discovered she qualified for loft insulation, solar panels, window ventilation, and fans, to keep the condensation to a minimum.
Pete
Pete had an air source heat pump installed and old electric heaters removed and replaced with radiators through the Warmer Homes programme.
“I never bothered using electric heaters before as they didn’t heat my home properly and were too expensive to run. Since having my air source heat pump installed, last winter was the most comfortable I’ve been during the colder periods. My home is now warm, and only costs around £2-3 a day to have the heating on constantly so I could keep it at a comfortable temperature. The heating also dramatically reduced the amount of mould that grew which was a huge bonus.
The application was for warmer homes was really easy, the installer did most of the work, so I didn’t need to provide much. I’m really happy with the outcome and recommend others make use of this scheme.”
Steve
Steve had an air source heat pump installed and loft insulation installed using the Warmer Homes programme.
“The process was very easy and was a lot quicker than I expected. Submitting my application was easy and straight forward. It was nice to have a responsive installer who answered all my questions and got back to me quickly.
Everything was left clean and tidy with all work being completed to a high standard. I can feel a big difference in my home, it stays warmer for longer and takes less time to heat up. Everything works well and the installers showed me how to operate the system effectively.
